When You Just Want to Run…...................... But You Can’t

Have you ever felt so overwhelmed that you wanted to run away until your legs couldn’t carry you anymore?
Not because you don’t love your life.
Not because you don’t love your children.
Not because you want to give up.
You’re simply tired.
Tired of being responsible.
Tired of making decisions.
Tired of carrying everyone’s needs while quietly ignoring your own.
Tired of being the person everybody depends on when you’re not even sure what’s holding you together.
Sometimes you don’t want your life to end you just want the pressure to stop. You want the world to pause long enough for you to catch your breath without someone calling your name, needing an answer, or adding something else to your already overflowing plate.
But you can’t run.
The Kyds still need you. The bills still come. The responsibilities don’t disappear just because you’re emotionally exhausted. Life keeps moving even when everything inside you is begging to be still.
So, what do you do when you can’t run away?
You retreat without disappearing.
You sit in the car for ten extra minutes. You take the long shower. You turn your phone over. You cry without apologizing. You pray even when the only words you can find are, “God, please help me.” You allow yourself to admit, “I cannot carry all of this today.”
Rest is not running away.
Setting boundaries is not abandoning anyone.
Asking for help does not make you weak.
Taking care of yourself does not mean you love your Kyds any less.
Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is stop pretending you’re okay.
Tell your Kyds, your responsibilities, your family and most importantly yourself! I want you to know that I love you with everything in me. But I am still human. There will be moments when I feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure of how I’m going to keep going. If you ever see me become quiet or step away, please understand that I am not running from you I am trying to find my way back to myself.
And if you ever feel like running, I hope you remember this: you don’t have to disappear to find peace. Pause. Breathe. Rest. Pray. Ask for help. Release what was never yours to carry.
You are allowed to be tired without giving up.
Today, I may not have the strength to run but I have enough faith to take one more step.
And for today, one step is enough.
Be Great Today
4 My Kyds!
